Ale Garden and NEO were two music venues in Shanghai. On many nights, my friends and I were there.
This book looks only at these two spaces and the people who appeared in them. Stage lights, smoke and sweat, faces in the crowd caught between restlessness and hesitation. The camera followed the most charged moments.
The same people, the same years, I would later look at from a different distance in I Will Stay for One More Song.
Both places are gone now.
